4 Granny Smith apples
Dash of water
125g plain flour
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon of salt
2 tablespoons of butter
1 beaten egg
Stewed green apples with a delightfully crunchy crumbly top. Best served hot with cream.
Combine first three ingredients in a saucepan and simmer for about 15 minutes or until desired consistency is reached.
Transfer to pie dish.
Place remaining ingredients in a bowl and combine with a wooden spoon, mixing until it resembles bread crumbs.
Spread over top of apple mixture.
Bake at 175 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Crust should be lightly browned and crunchy.
